NBA: Lakers Lose Again, Mavericks Up 3-0

Few gave the Dallas Mavericks any chance of winning the series against the LA Lakers, but who would have predicted a sweep for Dallas? Yet, the Mavericks stand one win away from that stunning result after rallying from an eight point deficit in the last quarter to take the third game 98-92. The old warhorse, Dirk Nowitzki, popped in 32 points, and the Mavs had 12 three-pointers to three in the win.

No NBA team has ever come back from 3-0 down. How many teams have tried? 98. How many did it? 0.

At leas the current Lakers team know they won't be the first defending Champion to be on the receiving end of a 40 sweep. The '83 and '89 Lakers went there first...

In the other series, Derrick Rose showed his MVP best, raining in 44 points to take the Chicago Bulls to a 201 lead over the Atlanta Hawks. Coming up on Saturday, the Miami Heat hope to extend their 2-0 lead over the Boston Celtics in Boston, and Memphis host Oklahoma City with the series tied at 1-1.
