There were no surprises on Tuesday night, with Barcelona winning 1-0 away for a 6-1 aggregate win over Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to a Lionel Messi goal, while Manchester United won 2-1 at home for a 3-1 aggregate against Chelsea. Javier Hernandez gave United the lead late in the first half and Chelsea looked sunk when they were reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes to go. Didier Drogba gave the Blues hope though when he scored in the 77th minute. At that stage, a second goal would have put them though on away goals, but Manchester United hit back almost instantly with a well taken goal from Ji-Sung Park to seal Chelsea's fate for another year.
The semi final line up will be completed tomorrow night, but are near formailities with Real Madrid and Schalke 04 taking near insurmountable leads into their second legs with Tottenham and Inter.
